Tombstone Tuesday - William T. Eakin


WILLIAM T. EAKIN
1850 ---1934

William Thomas Eakin was born Nov 1851 in Craig County, Virginia to Alexander Eakin and Margaret Bean Eakin. He was one of at least four known children born to the couple.  His mother, Margaret, had been born and raised just across the mountain from where he was born, in what is now West Virginia, but at the time was still Virginia.

On 22 Dec 1870, William married Nannie Susan Caldwell [1849-1942], also of Craig County. She was the daughter of Archibald Caldwell, Jr.[1809-1878] and Nancy Trout Caldwell [1811-1888].

The couple went on to have eleven known children:

William died 18 Apr 1934, and is buried at the Fairview Cemetery….
